Ordinary People si a distinctive collection of portraits that aims to challenge social prejudices and bring attention to a subject that has long been considered taboo. The concept arose from the numerous challenges I encountered during my years as a photojournalist focused on mental health. Frequently, my portraits were criticized as being too “ordinary”, leaving me with the impression that they were incomplete or somehow flawed. However, this inspired me to explore the potential of artificial intelligence, specifically designed to generate responses based on general, predefined patterns.

The project highlights the contrast between AI’s standard commands and the objective reality of photography. Regrettably, AI erroneously generates images of anger, shame, discomfort, fear, sadness, and confusion, thus creating a distorted and stigmatizing perception.

The stereotypes inherent in our vocabulary unconsciously influence society and contribute to the self-stigmatization experienced by individuals facing these challenges.
